Our Resources page features all the details you need to build one of our amazing costumes. From plans to materials, and 3D print joints to Cricut templates, we have everything you could need.

We never want anyone to feel overwhelmed when working on one of these wheelchair costumes. After all, it should be a fun and creative experience. We also know that this is new to most of you. So this “Resources” page is designed to help and assist you with lesson plans, 3D printed joints, 3D printed objects and even our exclusive Experienced Build Team, all here to help.

8-Week Schedule

We have created a rough 8-week schedule to help keep you on track. This is by no means the only way to do it, but we have found it works best to use as a guide the first time you build a costume.

Recommended Building List

Over the years, we have discovered what materials work best for the wheelchair costumes. Find your frame and skinning materials here.

Lights, Sounds & Electronics

When a costume calls for sounds, lights, and electronics, we have found some inexpensive routes to pull this off. These are typically for beginners with little to no knowledge about these items.

Experienced Build Team

The team is made up of seasoned wheelchair costume builders who really help elevate the costume designs to a new level. They are here to assist with any questions you might have while building a wheelchair costume.

We have created a set of lesson plans for certain types of wheelchair costumes. Feel free to customize it based on your child’s needs and costume details.

3D Printed Objects for Costumes

From steering wheels, and side mirrors, to jet engines and Mr. Fusions, here is a collection of 3D printer files we have created for some of our past wheelchair costumes that might be useful for upcoming costumes as well.

There are times where we have designed certain parts to be cut out of vinyl stickers on a Cricut machine. Here are some of the original works created by the W&RC team.

3D Printed Exclusive Joints

There are times when you need a joint that doesn’t exist. That’s when we break out CAD and design our own exclusive joints to help build these frames. 

R&D 3D Printed Joints

Many times we go through various iterations of things before we agree they are good to share on the website. These items are still in the testing phase but you can still use them.
